MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Monongalia County magistrate has sentenced the former chief of police in Monongah to six months in jail after being convicted on a harassment charge.
Gregory Knight, 57, of Core, was sentenced to six months in jail recently following his April 2 conviction.
Knight was following a woman in Monongalia County. He had been asked to stop.
On one occasion the woman told police she came home to find Knight’s car in her driveway. When she approached the car to confront Knight he merged from the woods nearby wearing all black. Knight was also forcibly removed from the home of one of her friends after he showed up there.
Knight is currently being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
