WESTON, W.Va. — Two men are behind bars following a high-speed pursuit on I-79 Tuesday night that began in Lewis County.
Coureon Thomas and Nasir Finne, both 21, had been sought as a result of an investigation into a violent incident in Upshur County.
Authorities said the pursuit originated on I-79 and briefly diverted to Route 50 and Airport Road before returning to the interstate headed north.
Deputies from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department began assisting around 6:42 p.m. when the car entered the county.
The pursuit ended at the Saltwell Road exit ramp when police deployed stop sticks.
Thomas was the driver and has been charged with fleeing. Finney has been charged with conspiracy.
