PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — The Wood County Board of Education has appointed Christie Willis as the school system’s new superintendent.

Willis serves as the district’s assistant superintendent of learning and assessment. She will replace current Superintendent Will Hosaflook when he takes a similar position with Jackson County Schools in July.

The board voted 4-1 in favor of the appointment. Rick Olcott was the only vote against Willis.

The board plans to approve Wills’ contract at its April 12 meeting.
