MORGANTOWN, W. Va.–Monongalia County commissioners said that the new MECCA 911 facility proposed in the Morgantown Industrial Park could be operational by early 2024.

Enroute Properties owns the property where the 9,600 square foot facility expected to cost about $10 million will be located. Enroute Properties co-owner Glenn Adrian said the Thrasher Group is nearing completion of the design work for the project.

“The TIF portion of the project should go out the first part of August,” Adrian said. “The plan is to put that out for bid for the roads, infrastructure and site excavation. We expect to open the bids around September 5.”

Site work is expected to begin by mid-September and work on the building will soon follow.

“We anticipate by the beginning of the beginning of the 4th Quarter of 2023 we would have our certificate of occupancy to provide that to turnover to the MECCA 911 group to finish the inside,” Adrian said.

The county will lease the building from Enroute Properties and build the cost of property tax in, so the TIF is fully funded for future improvements.
