Harrison County BOE presented with consolidation plan

CLARKSBURG, W. Va.–A proposal to consolidate six schools in Harrison County is put forth.

The Harrison County Board of Education was presented with the proposal Thursday. Superintendent Dora Stutler said that under the plan Harrison County would still have more schools than most counties its size.

Under the proposal Liberty High School would consolidate with Robert C. Byrd High School into the current RCB building.  Washington Irving Middle School would consolidate with Mountaineer Middle into the current Liberty High School building. Salem Elementary School with North View Elementary School into the current Mountaineer Middle School building

The meeting Thursday was just informational, the Harrison County Board of Education says that they have to digest the proposal and have more public meetings before making a final vote on the plan.
