FAIRMONT, W.Va. – According to a criminal complaint, Rose Mary Glaspell, 46, of Fairmont, has been charged in connection with an Amber Alert that was declared for her granddaughter earlier this week.

Glaspell allegedly took the 3-year-old May 21 after she had placed in the custody of the state by the Marion County Circuit Court. Detectives believe she was planning to take the child out-of-state to prevent the court order from being satisfied.

Glaspell, 46, has been charged with concealment or removal of minor child from custodian or from person entitled to visitation and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
