Former employee of Huntington postal facility pleads guilty

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from tires missing from a U.S. Postal Service facility.

Tedd Wayne Hale Jr., 55, previously worked at the Postal Service’s vehicle maintenance facility in Huntington. According to court documents, Hale admitted to taking more than 71 vehicle tires from June 2017 to September 2018. Hale hid his actions by manipulating tire inventory numbers.

Hale would sell the stolen tires for personal gain.

Hale faces up to 10 years in prison. His scheduled sentencing date is March 21.
