BRIDGEPORT, W. Va.–Flight numbers at the North Central West Virginia Airport in Harrison County are up.
According to the Benedum Airport Authority through August of this year the flight number is at 31,224 which is a 22 and a half percent increase from the same time last year.
This comes as the airport in Bridgeport is getting ready for a new carrier. Contour Airlines will take over for United Express starting Dec. 1. Contour will have direct flights to Charlotte.
