A man wearing a camouflage jacket and pants and a dark ski cap robbed the Summit
Community Bank in Salem Tuesday morning.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s
Department said the suspect, who was also wearing a COVID-19 mask, entered the
bank at around 8 a.m. He had a gun and demanded money.
After getting an
undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the bank parking lot in a car he stole from
a bank worker. The car was later recovered in the Cherry Camp area.
Authorities said there were five people in the bank at the time of the
robbery. There were no serious injuries reported.
Investigators from the
sheriff’s office and the FBI are looking for any information leading the arrest
of the suspect. Authorities are also looking for any resident or business owner
that may have security camera footage of the incident.
