CLARKSBURG, W. Va.–A man fell into the water of the West Fork River on West Pike Street in Clarksburg and died Friday morning.
According to Clarksburg Police 45-year-old William Elwell, of Clarksburg accidentally fell in the water near where Elk Creek meets the West Fork around 9 Friday morning.
Emergency personnel tried to revive Elwell, but were unsuccessful.
Clarksburg police and fire departments, Harrison County EMS and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded.
