BARBOUR COUNTY, W.Va. — It’ll be at least a decade before the Barbour County woman convicted of killing her husband is eligible for parole.

Carli Reed, 24, of Moatsville, was sentenced to up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder Wednesday in Barbour County Circuit Court for the 2019 shooting death of her husband, Marcus Fagons, 26.

Investigators said Reed shot Fagons while he was in bed.

At her trial in September, Reed, a former FBI employee, testified the shooting was an accident.

Fagos worked as a state correctional officer.
