MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Monongalia County Commission has a survey for the public to determine the interest in a municipal network that would provide top-tier, affordable, and reliable internet service to county residents and businesses. The survey is part of the action plan being developed by Ice Miller White Board, Lit Communities, and DLZ Corporation.

The survey will help define the needs of residents, then allow leaders to develop cost-effective projects to facilitate effective broadband expansion.

The Broadband Committee selected Ice Miller White Board in May of this year to complete the plan at a cost of $250,657. The Broadband Committee includes Mon County Commission president Sean Sikora, county IT director Jeff Welsh, county planner Andrew Gast-Bray, MECCA-911 representative Mike Fortney, Erik Carlson from the Morgantown Area Partnership, Ron Lytle from the Mon County Board of Education and MMPO director Bill Austin.
