Clarksburg man reaches plea deal in 2019 killing

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Twenty-year-old Malik Edler has entered a guilty plea to multiple charges in connection with a 2019 killing in Clarksburg. 

Edler was indicted by a grand jury for first-degree robbery, murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. 

According to Harrison County prosecutor Brian Shockley, Edler had entered a guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, unlawful assault, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He will be sentenced at a later date. 

Edler will be held in the North Central Regional Jail until sentencing.
