Bridgeport taking applications for urban deer hunt

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Bridgeport Police Department is processing applications for the 2022 Urban Deer Hunt.

Hunters who have participated in the last five years can pick up an application at the police department and will not be required to attend Urban Deer Hunt meetings. Potential hunters are required to provide a completed Urban Deer Hunting Landowner’s Permission Form when the application is submitted. New hunters and hunters that have not participated in the last five years are also required to complete a proficiency test.

Hunting season this year is set for September 10 through December 31.

New hunters are required to attend one of the following meetings at Bridgeport City Hall:
Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 23 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Thursday, Sept. 1 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Applications must be completed by September 2
