FRENCH CREEK, W.Va. — One child was taken to the hospital after a school bus wreck in Upshur County.
Upshur County Sheriff’s Deputies said the bus was travelling State Route 20 near French Creek and the driver hit a patch of black ice during the Thursday morning run. The driver lost control and the bus went up into an embankment. Along with the driver, there were 25 school aged children on the bus at the time of the accident.
The one child was taken to the hospital by ambulance while others were checked out at the scene by EMS and loaded onto another bus.
The wreck shut down Route 20 for an extended period of time.
