Frigid winter temperatures are expected to lock in for the next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service told MetroNews that temperatures will remain in the single digits with wind chill values below zero for much of the week.
“This is a cold outbreak that we haven’t seen in quite some time so folks need to be prepared and mindful that it’s going to be a while before we get out of this,” Tony Edwards said.
Edwards is an NWS meteorologist.
An Extreme Cold Warning goes into effect Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. and does not expire until Jan. 27 at 12 p.m.
Wind chill values can get as low as minus-17.
