GLENVILLE, W.Va. — Glenville State University is in search of its next head football coach.
“We thank Coach Kellar for his years of service here at Glenville,” Director of Athletics Jesse Skiles said in a release. “Institutionally, we are going in a different direction with the football program at this time. We wish him the best moving forward.”
The Pioneers have chosen not to renew the contract of Shinnston native Mike Kellar. Glenville State finished 6-5 and tied for third in the Mountain East Conference with a 5-3 record. The Pioneers played home games in Clarksburg this year due to ongoing work at their stadium.
In seven seasons in Glenville, Kellar compiled a 36-32 record. His career record of 87-67 includes additional stops at Concord and Lenoir-Rhyne.
A national search for Kellar’s replacement is underway.
