RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. — A Fairmont man has been charged with malicious assault following an incident in the Valley Head area.
Deputies from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department said Shaquille Evans, 32, threw a camping axe at another man during an altercation striking him in the hand. Deputies said the victim suffered a serious cut between the knuckles.
Deputies said Evans continued to chase the suspect on foot threatening him with a baseball bat. Thevictim was able to call 911 after fleeing to safe distance from Evans.
Evans is currently in the North Central Regional Jail on a $15,000 bond.
