WESTON, W.Va. — A Lewis County man could go to trial following indictment in Lewis County this week.
Zachary Williams, 27, of Jane Lew was one of 35 people the grand jury indicted. He is accused by investigators of throwing a baby into a bed frame and onto the floor, resulting in the child’s death.
Investigators said Williams admitted to throwing the child because it wouldn’t stop crying.
The child was 17-months-old. Williams was the child’s stepfather.
If he goes to trial, Williams will face one count of murder, one count of death of a child by a parent, guardian or custodian, one count of child abuse causing serious bodily injury and one count of malicious assault.
