WHEELING, W.Va. — A Fairmont man has been indicted for multiple charges following an assault that turned deadly on Wheeling Island two years ago.

Ohio County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Turak announced the indictment of Dennis Terrell Evans, 37, on one count of murder, one count of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree sexual assault.
Police found 49-year-old Christine Lynn King unconscious and partially clothed in a yard on Fink Street on Wheeling Island in July 2023. King was transported to Wheeling Hospital with serious injuries and later flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
King died in October 2023 after being hospitalized for months.
Her official cause of death has been listed as blunt force trauma.
Evans also been convicted on several unrelated felony charges and has been serving a three-year sentence at the St. Mary’s Correctional Center and Jail in Pleasants County.
Evans remains in jail without bail.
