THORNTON, W.Va. — A woman was injured with an explosion and fire happened at a residence near the community of Thornton in Taylor County early Saturday morning.
The house is located along Hovatter Road in eastern Taylor County. Authorities said the incident may have been methan-related.
Harrison County 911, which handles calls for Taylor County, was contacted by Grafton City Hospital after a man had driven his injured wife there for treatment. The Grafton Fire Department was then dispatched to the scene.
The explosion is believed to have occurred at around 3 a.m. Harrison County 911 was contacted at 4 a.m.
The woman is being treated for burn injuries.
No further information was immediately available.
