SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — A man will spend one year in jail after being convicted in Nicholas County Magistrate Court this week on a negligent homicide charge.

Dusty Delaney, 42, was found guilty Tuesday and sentenced to the maximum one year in jail in connection with the Jan. 24 death of Hayley Short Phares.
Delaney drove his cattle truck through the red light at the intersection of U.S. Route 19 and state Route 129 at Mt. Nebo. The collision claimed the life of Phares, 22, of Poe.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.
Delaney will serve his one year sentence in the Central Regional Jail.
