CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A possible gas leak destroyed a home on Kramer Drive and resulted in the evacuation of much of the Chestnut Hills neighborhood in Clarksburg Sunday afternoon.
It’s being reported that one man was injured in the blast, and a dog has not been accounted for at this time. The man is believed to be facing life threatening injuries.
The explosion is believed to have occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
In addition to a heavy firefighter presence, Hope Gas crews are also on hand.
A temporary shelter has been established at Robert C. Byrd High School for displaced residents who don’t have anywhere to go during the mandatory evacuation.
