GRANTSVILLE, W.Va. — State Police said one surviving victim of a weekend shooting in Calhoun County remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday. The other was treated and released.
According to Sgt. K.M. Williams, Steve Tribioli, 55, of Grantsville who is the father of the suspect is still in critical condition at CAMC General in Charleston. However, Sgt. Williams said the elder Tribioli had been removed from a ventilator and was able to communicate with investigating troopers.
“He has actually been able to talk and I know they talked to him and that filled in a lot of holes in the investigation as to why this happened,” said Williams.
The second victim who survived, Claude Heagy, 66, of Mount Gretna, Pa. was treated and released for his wounds. The other two victims, Jodee Tribioli, 51, of Grantsville and Carole Heagy, 71, of Mount Gretna, Pennsylvania were dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.
The suspect, Noah Tribioli, 28, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania remained behind bars. He was arrested by State Police as he travelled on U.S. Route 19 in Fayette County near the community of Hico only a few hours after the killings.
“I do not know where he was headed, but he had left the area. I don’t know if he knew exactly where he was going, I don’t think he was familiar with the area and possibly got himself turned around a little bit,” said Williams.
Troopers have not released any further information on what prompted the shooting which happened Saturday evening at a home off Pine Creek Road in the Mt. Zion community.
Tribioli is being charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, two counts of Malicious Wounding and two counts of Attempt to Commit a Felony. He continues to be held in Southern Regional Jail without bond.
Troopers confirmed Steve Tribioli is the suspect’s father and Jodee Tribioli is his step-mother. The other two victims were described as “family friends” by investigators.
Although Troopers believe they have a handle on what led to the shootings, they have not released any further information about the incident. Tribioli’s preliminary hearing is set for January 7th.
