West Virginia native and Pro Football Hall of Fame member Randy Moss has announced he is battling cancer.
Moss announced the diagnosis Friday evening on an Instagram live video.
Moss recently stepped away from ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” due to health issues, and was wearing sunglasses in recent weeks when he announced he was battling an illness.
In his Instagram live video, Moss said he has been in the hospital the last six days, getting a surgery in recent days.
Moss, who was a star at Dupont High School, was a Heisman Trophy finalist for Marshall University in 1997.
Moss went on to be drafted 21st overall in 1998 by the Minnesota Vikings. He finished his 14-year career with 982 receptions for 15,292 yards and 156 touchdowns, and was selected to five Pro Bowl teams.’
