BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The City of Buckhannon is accepting applications for the next few days to fill the vacancy left by the incarceration of former city councilman David McCauley.
McCauley was indicted earlier this month on two counts of production and one count of possession of child pornography and is in federal detention until his December trial. McCauley resigned following the indictment creating the opening.
All applicants must be registered voters and have a permanent residence in the Buckhannon city limits.
Applications should include a letter expressing your interest and explaining why you would be good for the city in that role, a resume, references, and any ideas that could be introduced in the future to benefit the city.
Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 25. Packages submitted via mail should be sent to 70 East Main Street, Buckhannon, W. Va., 26201 and must be postmarked by midnight, Oct. 26.
