CHESTNUT RIDGE, W.Va. — A woman and a horse were injured when a trailer disconnected from a truck going west on Interstate 68 Tuesday near the Monongalia-Preston county line.
The driver told investigators the trailer became disconnected and traveled about 1/2 mile down the highway before crashing.
The driver suffered minor injuries while the passenger was transported to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.
A horse suffered a laceration and will require stitches, authorities said.
Two horses were in the trailer. The condition of the second horse wasn’t immediately known.
