HARRISVILLE, W.Va. — A Ritchie County restaurant was gutted by flames early Monday morning.
Heavy smoke was showing from Devon’s Tailgate on East Main Street in Harrisville, the former location of the Pizza House, when fire crews arrived on the scene at shortly after 1 a.m.
“Engine 1 arrived on scene with heavy smoke showing from the eaves and gables,” a post on the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page said. “Shortly after arriving, fire broke through the roof and defensive operations began.”
It took fire crews from Harrisville and surrounding areas several hours to bring the blaze under control.
There were no injuries reported.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office and Ritchie County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
