HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — State Police say a trooper has resigned after being linked to uploading child pornography.
According to a Thursday morning news release from state police, Senior Trooper R. A. Evick was placed on administrative leave as part of an internal investigation and later resigned from his position.
State police said Evick would have been fired had he not resigned.
“That investigation’s results would have resulted in the member’s termination from the State Police,” the news release said.
The results of the criminal investigation have been turned over the Cabell County Prosecutor’s Office.
State police said the investigations began after the agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit had received a Cybertip.
