BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A Virginia fugitive was arrested following a routine traffic stop in Upshur County on Monday.

Deputies made the traffic stop on state Route 20 near Buckhannon Antique Mall after witnessing the vehicle speeding and crossing a double yellow line.

Police quickly identified the passenger as Coleman Ray Young Jr., wanted on a felony warrant out of Virginia.

While deputies put Coleman in handcuffs, they discovered a bag with a hard white substance in it, which he told them was cocaine.

At that point, the driver, Mark Andrew Maxwell, told deputies he had drug paraphernalia. Police searched Maxwell and located methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Both are being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
