WEST UNION, W.Va. — Andrew Menendez, who previously served as a Doddridge County Sheriff’s Deputy prior to the investigation that began late in 2020, could face up to 20 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of two charges in a sexual misconduct case.

The 12-person jury took four hours to determine Menendez’s guilt on charges of third degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian.

The sister of the victim testified as a rebuttal witness against Menendez. He also testified in his own defense.

Sentencing is set for April 11.
