DODDRIDGE COUNTY, W.Va. — Jury selection in the sexual misconduct case against former Doddridge County Sheriff’s Department deputy Andrew Menendez begins Wednesday.
Menendez was charged with soliciting a minor via computer, sexual abuse by a person of trust, and sexual abuse in the third degree following an investigation in October 2020.
The prosecution alleges that Menendez used a computer to solicit and lure what he believed to be a minor at the time. The victim in this case was reportedly 16 years old at the time.
Because Menendez is a former Doddridge County deputy, Sam Rogers from Ritchie County was brought in to act as the special prosecutor in the case.
