MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A former South Charleston offensive lineman chose WVU following a two-year stint in Jacksonville State.

Xavier Bausley returns to the Mountain State via the transfer portal. He redshirted in 2022. In 2023, Bausley started 11 of 12 games for Jacksonville State, earning a 2nd team nod on The Athletic’s Freshman All-America team.

Bausley, a 2021 graduate of South Charleston, played on three playoff teams in high school.

A 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle, Bausley visited West Virginia and Kentucky.

He joins an offensive line that is expected to need two new starters following the departures of center Zach Frazier and tackle Doug Nester.

Frazier is expected to be taken as early as the second day of the 2024 NFL Draft.
