MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed two were killed in a Wednesday morning crash on I-79 northbound at mile marker 149.

Authorities said the crash involved both the northbound and southbound side of the interstate.

Deputies were dispatched at 7:30 a.m., and the interstate was closed for about five hours during the clean-up and investigation.

Two other people were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
